Apollo
From wild and wary to warm and willing—Apollo is almost ready for his next chapter.
Apollo’s Story
Apollo was just a baby when he was rounded up from the Sand Springs West HMA in Nevada—a rugged and remote public land where wild horses still roam free. Separated from his family far too young, he arrived at Mustang Valley carrying the quiet uncertainty of a foal who had learned not to trust too easily.
With his deep, almost black coat and striking eyes, Apollo quickly caught everyone’s attention. But it took him a while to believe that people could be safe.
His Healing Journey
Now in training, Apollo is finally learning how to be a domestic horse. Day by day, he’s showing more confidence, curiosity, and connection. He’s made huge strides in halter work and groundwork—and he’s starting to truly enjoy human companionship.
And while training is important, one of the biggest milestones in Apollo’s journey has been friendship. His best friend? George Clooney. (Yes, really.) These two geldings are often seen napping together, playing, or grooming each other in the paddock. Their bond is unbreakable and joyful—a beautiful example of how healing doesn’t happen alone.
Apollo isn’t quite ready for adoption yet, but he’s getting close. And when the time comes, he’ll be looking for a forever home that understands both where he came from and the remarkable journey he’s on.
Future Home Needs
Apollo is best suited for a patient, experienced adopter who can continue his training with kindness and consistency. He would thrive with another gelding friend—maybe even alongside George, if the stars align.

Note from Apollo
“They used to call me skittish. Now I’m curious, brave, and learning more every day. I’m not wild anymore—but I’m still a Mustang at heart. Thank you for helping me grow into the horse I was meant to be.”
