Jackson: a charming chocolate palomino pony with a heart as big as his personality

Jackson’s journey to our sanctuary began eight years ago when he was rescued from an auction house. He was just four years old at the time and had a distinctive snip taken out of his ear, marking him as “imperfect” according to certain breed standards. But to us, Jackson is nothing short of perfect.

This little fellow isn’t your typical brown chocolate Palomino; he’s a smoky gray with enchanting dapples and a silver mane that turns heads. With a mischievous mustache-like marking, he’s not just a pony; he’s a fashion icon. Jackson has a unique identity that sets him apart, and he’s proud of it. In his mind, he’s a Mustang, and nothing can convince him otherwise.

Breaking a pattern of use and neglect

Over the years, Jackson has found himself adopted out twice, and both times, he brought joy to his new families. However, as winter rolled around and his role in pony parties and lessons diminished, he was returned. It’s a heart-wrenching pattern we aim to break. Jackson deserves a forever home where he can live out his days without uncertainty.

How Jackson steals the show

This little guy has so much to offer. He’s a show-stealer, mastering tricks like bows and attempting to rear despite his size. His affection knows no bounds, offering sweet kisses to anyone who asks. He’s a love bug through and through.

One of the sanctuary’s favorites, Jackson has touched many hearts. His adventurous spirit even led him to a Christmas caroling event, where his reaction to a jingling bell made for a memorable story. He’s an integral part of the sanctuary’s fabric and enjoys participating in activities like sled rides. In fact, we’re excited to harness him up and take him on rides around the hay field, and perhaps even sleigh rides in the future.

Jackson’s sweet equine crush

Above all, Jackson’s heart belongs to Coco Chanel, the feistiest Mustang mare in the herd. He’s fiercely protective of her, despite being one of the smaller horses. Jackson is a character, a loyal friend, and a symbol of resilience.

We won’t let Jackson’s story repeat itself. He deserves a special place where he can thrive without being uprooted. We invite you to be a part of Jackson’s journey by sponsoring him or spending time with him at the sanctuary. Jackson’s search for a forever home continues, and we’re committed to making sure it’s a place filled with love, stability, and endless adventures for our beloved little Palomino.
